The United States Embassy - Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Kenya has a vacancy in Nairobi for a Health Scientist.
The incumbent will serve as a health scientist in the office of the Deputy Director for Science.
Duties will include assistance with all functions of the office, i.e. ethics and research technical assistance and consultation, coordination and follow up of clearance processes and preparation of standard operation procedures and training materials and conducting trainings
Requirements:
A Master's degree in Health Sciences is required. Five years experience as a health scientist with a research organization, university, or public health services implementing agency is required. Level IV (fluent) English ability is required. Knowledge of research principles and HIV/AIDS epidemiology is required. Must have the ability to develop and maintain effective and respectful working relationships with professional colleagues, government officials, health workers and members of many communities. Computer knowledge and extensive experience and skills with Word Processing (MS Word) and complex use of spreadsheets (Excel or Lotus) are required.
