Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting and deputising the Deputy Commissioner in the management of the Internal Affairs Division.
- Co-ordinating enforcement of Kenya Revenue Authority's Ami- Fraud and Corruption and Whistle-Blowing Policies.
- Defining the procedures and determining the resources required for implementing the Integrity Testing Programme.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the system of integrity testing.
- Maintaining records and preparing periodic reports.
- Supplying the Oversight Committee in a timely fashion with information in a form that is appropriate to enable it to make assessments and decisions directed towards the objectives of the programme

Duties and Responsibilities
- Intepreting of the relevant legislation eg East Africa Customs Management Act, VAT Act.
- Investigating of cases received by the Division regarding staff in accordance with the relevant taxation legislation.
- Co-ordinating enforcement of Kenya Revenue Authority's Anti-fraud and Corruption and Whistle Blowing Policies.
- Preparing work allocation schedules.
- Preparing monthly reports for Top Management meetings.
- Conducting staff counseling.
- Supervising of officers under him/her.
- Co-ordinating of staff motivation and team building activities
- Providing necessary support to the management.
- Any other duties as may be assigned to him/her.
- Be in possession of a Bachelor degree from a recognised university.
- Have at least 4 years experience in a senior position in a comparable organisation.

- Investigating cases/complaints received in the Division regarding integrity of staff
- Interpreting and application of relevant legislation.
- Writing investigative reports.
- Preparing monthly case progress reports.

Personal specifications

- Gathering and analysing information on reported cases relating to integrity, corruption, fraud and misconduct.
- Synthesising data into meaningful narrative or graphical presentations.
- Collecting and analysing data to produce intelligence reports for tactical and strategic planning.
- Researching and identifying emerging trends in corruption, fraud and misconduct.
- Profiling of targets for integrity testing.
- Maintaining records and preparation of periodic reports.

CHEMIST 1 (LABORATORY)
(KRA 9) 1 Post
Duties and Responsibilities
Suitable candidates will be responsible for:
- Performing qualitative analysis on a wide range of samples of international trade commodities and other materials, to provide information for Customs control, tariff classification and other purposes.
- Carrying out chemical analysis and physical testing using standardised methods to determine chemical characteristics, physical properties and composition of a wide variety' of samples.
- Conducting instrumental analysis requiring the application of standard techniques including infrared, ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometers, atomic absorption spectrophotometer (ASS), flame photometer, polarimeter and nitrogen analyzer, thin-layer and column chromatography; and nitrimetric and gravimetric techniques.
- Selecting and adapting existing techniques and methods to suit the unique requirements of samples; and assisting in the development of analytical methods and procedures.
- Preparing samples, solutions, reagents and standards and maintaining cleaning and caring for laboratory equipment and apparatus and collecting samples for analysis.
- Adhering to quality assurance and safety' procedures to ensure the validity of test results and safety for the work environment.
- Maintaining records and providing monthly and other reports including the number, types and cost of tests performed
- Performing calculations and statistical analysis of test results and preparing reports for review by supervisor and giving testimony regarding samples analysed, test methods and results
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Degree (Chemistry option) from a recognised university' with at least 24 semester units in Chemistry or Diploma in Applied Chemistry (Analytical) from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC)
- Possession of a Masters of Science will be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years experience as a Laboratory Technologist.
- Knowledge of the principles of organic and inorganic chemistry including qualitative and quantitative analysis and chemical laboratory procedures, techniques and equipment.
- Have basic knowledge of the Harmonised system (HS) Nomenclature and the East African Community Common External Tariff.
- Ability to operate and maintain standard laboratory instruments and equipment including the use of spectrophotometers, flame photometer, polarimeter and nitrogen analyser.
- Be customer focused and have excellent communication skills and high level of integrity,
- Have computer operation and application skills.
