Hotel Accountant

We are seeking to recruit an Accountant for our hotel in Kisumu City. The successful candidate should be an aggressive, highly motivated and self-driven individual who will be expected to work during odd hours

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts including adhoc financial reports as required by the University's Management Board.
  • Supervision of the hotel's accounting staff (including allocation of tasks, motivation and managing their performance).
  • Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
  • Reconciliation of ledger accounts, creditors' statements, debtors' ledgers and bank accounts.
  • Preparation of the hotel's draft annual budgets and assisting with budgetary control.
  • Management of credit control.
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
  • At least a degree in Commerce/Business Administration OR CPA II.
  • Computer literacy, including experience in use of Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, communication and accounting skills.
  • Must be able to foster good customer relations, work under pressure and liaise effectively with people from different backgrounds.
  • At least three years experience in a busy finance/accounting department.
  • Past experience in hotel industry will be an added advantage.

Hotel cashiers (4 posts)

We are seeking to recruit Cashiers for our hotel in Kisumu City. Successful candidates must be able to work during odd hours and public holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Invoicing and receipting functions
  • Preparation of daily sales reports
  • Safe keeping of daily collections
  • Ensure proper issuance of ETR receipts
  • Updating of cash books
  • Banking activities
  • Clearance of clients from rooms
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
  • KCSE and at least KATC-Final
  • Computer literacy, including experience in use of Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work under constant pressure.
  • Spoken fluency in English and Kiswahili.
  • At least two years experience in a busy cash point.
  • Past experience in hotel industry and In-depth understanding of customer relations concepts will be an added advantage.
