The Wrigley Company East Africa, a local subsidiary of the Wm Wrigley Company, a
leader in the global confectionery industry and the world’s largest manufacturer of
chewing and bubble gum seeks to recruit:

i) Environmental, Safety and Health Specialist

Reporting to: Factory Manager

Position Purpose

Organization and coordination of the Environmental, Safety, Health Compliance
activities at the Plant in accordance with Kenyan Legislative Norms and Corporate
Policy and Standards.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Organization of safe working environment, environmental protection and implementation of the Company’s safety, health & environmental policy and National standards.
  • Develop internal Factory Health & Safety Policy and procedures and other required safety instructions.
  • Ensure full compliance of factory safety and environmental documentation structure to Company and national standards.
  • Actively and timely initiate, analyze and implement all best practices and procedures.
  • Study and interprets national and corporate safety, health & environmental regulations & standards to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and provide report on risks assessment report to all the managers and supervisor.
  • Organize incoming and others trainings to meet Kenyan Safety Legislation and Corporate Safety standards.
  • Conduct Accidents investigation and develop appropriate documentations in line with National and Corporate standards.
  • Develop and control budget on safety & environmental issues.
  • Cooperate & work with municipal & regional Sanitary Epidemiological & Labour Safety Control Services on questions of own responsibilities within current & extraordinary supervision inspection visits to the site.
  • Organize implementation of injunctions, acts of examination and company representatives audit observations received by the Factory to meet national and company regulatory requirements.
  • Organize timely monitoring of energy water consumption, waste disposal and advise on methods to decrease losses.
  • Organize Factory current environmental reporting to NEMA (government) authorities.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Nurse in reviewing work practices and monitoring working conditions and procedures.
  • Provide for the timely, economic, and appropriate disposal of production waste, and other rubbish removal.
The Person
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety & Environmental Studies, Engineering or any other related field from a recognised University.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and MS Word among others.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in busy FMCG in a similar role.
  • Broad knowledge of up – to – date safety & Environmental legislation and taking decision by sanitary & Environmental Authorities.
  • Capable of setting attainable targets.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to pay attention to Details.
  • Excellent Analytical skills.
  • Excellent Customer Orientation.
  • Ability to plan and follow through.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and establish new initiatives

ii) Product Costing Accountant

Position Purpose

To prepare and provide timely and accurate production costing and give any other related reports as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely and accurate preparation of stock reports.
  • Capital expenditure planning.
  • Assist in budgeting process, that is, product costing and budget revisions.
  • Analyze and review budget expenditures.
  • Preparation of Factory Operating budget (FOB) and control.
  • Conduct Regular analysis and explanation for all variances between the plan and actual.
  • Prepare monthly reliable costing schedules and analysis from CMR ( Corporate Manufacturing Report) explaining all the variances between the actual and budget for both internal and external reporting.
  • Prepare the inventory revaluation and reconciliation between the General Ledger and the inventory system records.
  • Prepare the Latest Estimate report and analysis of the variances in the Latest Estimate report for internal and external reporting.
  • Any other assigned duty from time to time.
The Person
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or and any other related field from a recognized University.
  • CPA Finalist or currently doing section 6.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word among others.
  • 2 – 3 years working experience in busy FMCG.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to pay attention to Details.
  • Excellent Analytical skills.
  • Excellent Customer Orientation.
  • Ability to plan and follow through.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and establish new initiatives
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Be accountable & responsible
  • Knowledge of SAP software will be an added advantage.
