Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) Jobs and Careers in Kenya

Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) was established as a body corporate through the Supplies Practitioners Management Act of 2007 with the mandate to facilitate training, registration and licensing of Supplies Practitioners and to regulate their practice. KISM is currently recruiting for the following positions:

Programs Officer

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Secretariat the Programs Officer will perform the following functions:
  • Developing proposals
  • Administration of assigned projects including web content development and supervision, KISM magazine content development, resource centre establishment
  • Projects reporting and records management
  • Participates in preparation of work-plans and budgets
  • Support public relations functions
  • Performs such other duties as may be required
Required
  • At least 30 years of age
  • Minimum of a degree in social sciences, preferably business management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of document, data management and presentation software
  • Minimum 3 years experience in administration of business related projects
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others, sharing workloads and work independently.
  • Requires critical thinking skills and keen judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner
Procurement Assistant

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Secretariat the Procurement Assistant will perform the following functions:
  • Prepare procurement and tendering documentation and ensure compliance to procurement procedures
  • Demonstrated planning and organising skills
  • Liaison with internal and external clients
  • Manage suppliers
  • Performs such other duties as may be required
Required
  • At least 25 years of age
  • First degree in procurement and supply chain management
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Knowledge of document, data management and presentation software
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others, sharing workloads and work independently.
  • Requires critical thinking skills and keen judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner
  • Member of KISM
Executive Assistant

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Secretariat the Executive Assistant will perform the following functions:
  • Communicate relevant information to Council members
  • Coordinate minutes for sub-committees and Council minutes ensuring they are up to date.
  • Provide customer service to all walk in clients
  • Receipt and dispatch of mail
  • Control of office supplies
  • Filing and maintaining filing systems
  • Dispense petty cash, maintain petty cash records and ensure timely replenishing of the same.
  • Ensure safe custody of the institute’s assets
  • Assist in the preparation for seminars
  • Ensuring office facilities are clean and presentable
  • Coordinate activities of the office assistant and driver
  • Performs such other duties as may be required
Required
  • At least 25 years of age
  • Minimum of a diploma in business administration from a reputable institution
  • Knowledge of document, data management and presentation software
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar or equivalent position
  • Excellent attitude while managing multiple tasks and extremely demanding and inconsistent workload
  • Demonstrated planning and organizing skills
  • Ability to coordinate and work well with others, sharing workloads and work independently.
  • Requires critical thinking skills and keen judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner.
Driver

Responsibilities
  • Operates assigned vehicle in a safe manner displaying courtesy to passengers and other road users;
  • Implement authorised deliveries as directed
  • Keeps the assigned vehicle clean
  • Maintains accurate records on mileage, routes, passenger manifests, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, and other records required by management;
  • Performs minor maintenance and fuels the assigned vehicle
  • Notifies administration of the vehicles overall condition including status of insurance and other certifications
  • Liaise with administration in coordination of vehicle maintenance schedule
  • Performs such other duties as may be required
Required
  • At least 25 years of age
  • KCSE certificate, a college diploma will be an added advantage
  • Driving license
  • Three years experience in a similar capacity
  • Safe driving record of at least five years
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Basic knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics will be an added advantage
