1. Medical Specialist I
Job Group K5 (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Specialist I will be responsible to the Senior Medical Specialist. Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating in the planning and delivery of efficient and high quality medical care to patients.
  • Responding to consultations from other clinical specialties.
  • Ensuring proper utilization of equipment and other supplies in the department.
  • Participating in clinical research and teaching.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Medicine (M.MED) in the respective specialties from the University of Nairobi or any other recognized university.
  • Specialist recognition certificate from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist's Board (Kenya).
  • Must have served in the grade of Medical Specialist II for at least three (3) years. Registration Certificate and current Practicing Licencefrom the Medical Practitioners and Dentists' Board ( Kenya ).
  • Sub-specialization in the field of specialty and evidence of scientific publication in reputable local or international journals will be an added advantage.
2. Dental Specialist 1
Job Group K5 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Dental Specialist I will be responsible to the Senior Dental Specialist for the management of patients in the Department of Dentistry.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating in the planning and delivery of efficient and high standards of Dental Care to patients.
  • Responding to consultations from other clinical specialties.
  • Ensuring proper utilization of equipment and other supplies in the department.
  • Participating in clinical research and teaching.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Dentistry (Msc. or MDS) in any of the following specialties: Prosthetic Dentistry. Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontic Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry, Peadontics Dentistry or, Periodontology Dentistry form the University of Nairobi or any other recognized university.
  • Proven experience of not less than three (3) years at the level of Dental Specialist II.
  • Have at least one (1) sub - specialization in the respective specialty.
  • Registration Certificate and current Practicing Licence from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists' Board ( Kenya ).
  • Evidence of Scientific Publication in a reputable local/international journal will be an added advantage.
3. Chief Pharmaceutical Technologist
Job Group K4 (1 Post)

The Chief Pharmaceutical Technologist will be responsible to the Chief Pharmacist for the planning, organizing and coordinating of pharmaceutical services in the Hospital.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Ensuring provision of quality pharmaceutical services to patients.
  • Ensuring that dispensing of drugs is done professionally.
  • Visiting user areas on regular basis to ensure proper dispensing of drugs.
  • Participating in the preparation of expenditure estimates for the department.
  • Conducting research and participation in teaching of students.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Deputy Chief Pharmaceutical Technologist or an equivalent position in a large health organization.
  • Registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons' Board.
4. Deputy Chief Radiographer
Job Group K5 – 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief Radiographer will be responsible to the Chief Radiographer for the provision of Radiography services in the Hospital.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating in planning and organizing the provision of quality Radiography services.
  • Ensuring availability and control of relevant supplies and equipment for the department.
  • Participating in the preparation of the expenditure estimates for the department.
  • Participating in research and teaching of students.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff in the department.
Qualifications
  • Higher Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Proven experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Assistant Chief Radiographer or an equivalent position in a large organization.
  • Degree and / or acceptable evidence of research in Diagnostic Radiography will be an added advantage.
5. Position: Deputy Chief Therapy Radiographer
Job Group K5 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief Therapy Radiographer will be responsible to the Head, Cancer Treatment Center for the overall management of support services in Radiotherapy.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating in planning and organizing the provision of quality therapy Radiography services.
  • Ensuring availability and control of relevant supplies and equipment for the department
  • Participating in the preparation of the expenditure estimates for the department.
  • Participating in research and teaching of students.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff in the department.
Qualifications
  • Higher Diploma in Therapy Radiography from Kenya Medical Training College or any other recognised institution.
  • Proven experience of at least three (3) years in the grade of Assistant Chief Therapy Radiographer or an equivalent position in a large organization.
  • Degree and / or acceptable evidence of research in Therapy Radiography will be an added advantage.
6. Deputy Chief Physiotherapist
Job Group K5 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief Physiotherapist will be responsible to the Chief Physiotherapist for the planning and management of Physiotherapy services in the Hospital.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating in planning and organizing the provision of quality Physiotherapy services.
  • Ensuring availability and control of relevant supplies and equipment for the department.
  • Participating in the preparation of the expenditure estimates for the department.
  • Participating in research and teaching of students.

Qualifications
  • Higher Diploma in Physiotherapy.

  • Degree in Physiotherapy Studies and/or evidence of research or teaching will be an added advantage.
7. Deputy Chief Nutrition Officer
Job Group K5 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief Nutrition Officer will be responsible to the Chief Nutrition Officer for the Nutritional health needs of patients in the Hospital.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Planning, organizing and co-coordinating nutritional programmes in the Hospital.
  • Developing programmes for the preparation and services of therapeutic and other special foods as required.
  • Ensuring availability and control of relevant supplies and equipment for the department.
  • Participating in the preparation of the expenditure estimates for the department.
  • Participating in research and teaching of students.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff in the department.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Home Economics/Nutrition majoring in Nutrition/Dietetics or related field.
  • Proven experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Assistant Chief Nutrition Officer or an equivalent position in a large organization.
  • Possession of a Masters Degree or acceptable evidence of research or teaching in nutrition will be an added advantage.
8. Dental Specialist II

Duties and Responsibilities

The Dental Specialist II will be responsible to the Senior Dental Specialist for management of patients under their care in the Department of Dentistry.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating in the planning and delivery of efficient and high standards to dental care of patients.

  • Ensuring proper utilization of equipment and other supplies in the department.
  • Participating in clinical research and teaching.

Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Dentistry (MSC or MDS) in any of the following specialties: Prosthetic Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontic Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry, Peadontics Dentistry or, Periodontology Dentistry form the University of Nairobi or any other recognized university.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Hospital Planner will be responsible to the Planning Manager for the overall planning of Hospital development programmes.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Formulation of Hospital development strategies and providing professional guidance to the Hospital Management on matters relating to planning and development.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and determining viability and prioritizing of projects.
  • Participating in preparation of expenditure estimates for the Unit.
  • Compiling reports on periodic and specific assignments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree (2nd class honours, upper division) in Economics or Hospital Planning and a Masters degree in the same field or Strategic Management, from a recognized university.
  • Proven working experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Planner I in a large organization.
11. Position: Medical Physicist III/II
Job Group K8/7 (4 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Physicist III/II will be responsible to the Senior Medical Physicist for therapeutic services.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Ensuring Radiation protection for staff, patient and the general public.
  • Ensuring that equipment is in good working condition and reporting any defects.
  • Participating in teaching and examination of students in the Hospital and adjacent institutions.
  • Supervising therapeutic services in the department.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics.
  • Registration by the Radiation and Protection Board.
  • Candidates applying for Medical Physicist II must have served for a period of three (3) years in the lower grade of Medical Physicist III.
12. Deputy Mausoleum Manager
Job Group K7 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Mausoleum Manager will be responsible to Mausoleum Manager for the day-to-day management of the mausoleum services.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Supervising the receiving, registration, preservation, as well as security and disposal of bodies.
  • Procurement of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintenance of proper inventory.
  • Advising mausoleum Manager on maintenance, security and repairs of the mortuary plant.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (Histopathology)
  • Proven experience of not less than three (3) years at a senior level in a mausoleum.
  • Conversant with the Kenyan Laws on public health, human tissue, and death certification.
  • Knowledgeable in various religious and cultural rites and practices.
  • Possession of a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Nairobi or any other recognised university will be an added advantage.
13. Position: Senior Supplies Officer
Job Group K7 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Supplies Officer will be responsible to the Chief Supplies Officer.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Heading one of the procurement, stock control and warehousing sections.
  • Ensuring efficient management of supplies to the user departments.
  • Participating in the preparation of supplies expenditure estimates.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics or Business Administration.
  • Diploma in Supplies/Materials Management.
  • Registration by the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
  • Proven experience of not less than three (3) years at the level of Supplies Officer I or equivalent position in a large organisation.
  • Conversant with computer based inventory system.
  • Candidates who do not possess a degree but are in possession of a Diploma in Supplies/Materials Management and have worked for at least five (5) years in the grade of Supplies Officer I or its equivalent and in addition meet the other requirements indicated above, will also be considered.
14. Deputy Laundry Manager
Job Group K7 (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Laundry Manager will be responsible to the Laundry Manager for the efficient operations of the unit.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Ensuring collection of soiled linen from the user points.
  • Overseeing the washing, ironing, pressing, folding and inspection of linen.
  • Ensuring effective distribution of clean linen to all the users.
  • Participating in the preparation of the expenditure estimates for the unit.
  • Effective supervision, training and development of staff in the unit.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Home Economics from a recognised university or Higher Diploma in Institutional Management from the Kenya Polytechnic or Utalii College .
  • Proven experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Senior Laundry Supervisor or equivalent position in a large organisation.
15. Position: Clinical Psycologist III/II
Job Group K9/8 (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

The Clinical Psychologist III/II will be responsible to the Senior Medical Specialist for the provision of appropriate interventions/specific therapies.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Receiving and assessing patients.
  • Planning the patient treatment.
  • Offering the intervention (Therapy) and referring patients as appropriate.
  • Participating in teaching of students.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology/Counselling from a recognised institution.
  • Evidence of practical (supervised) attachment for a minimum period of three (3) months.
  • Candidates applying for the position of clinical Psychologist II must have served in the lower grade of Clinical Psychologist III for at least three (3) years.
16. Position: Physiotherapist III/II

Duties and Responsibilities

The Physiotherapist III/II will be responsible to the Senior Physiotherapist for efficient delivery of Physiotherapy services in respective area of deployment.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Receiving and assessing patients' needs including rehabilitation.
  • Reviewing patients and providing quality physiotherapy treatment.
  • Ensuring all equipment is in good working condition and available to the patients.
  • Participating in research and teaching of students.
Qualifications

17. Position: Occupational Therapist III/II

Duties and Responsibilities

The Occupational Therapist Ill/ll will be responsible to the Senior Occupational Therapist for efficient delivery of Occupational Therapy services in the respective area of deployment

Specific duties will include:
  • Receiving and assessing patients' needs including rehabilitation of patients with limited/lost functions.
  • Ensuring that patients requiring therapy treatment are reviewed and evaluated for proper treatment.
  • Ensuring all equipment is in good working condition and available to the patients.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution.
  • Registration by the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association.
  • Candidates applying for the position of Occupational Therapist II should have served in the lower grade of Occupational Therapist III for a minimum period of three (3) years.
18. Position: Registered Clinical Officer III/II

Duties and Responsibilities

The Registered Clinical Officer Ill/ll will be responsible to the Head of the respective clinical department of deployment for the day-to-day running of the assigned activities.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Carrying out specialised procedures under the guidance of a senior medical personnel.
  • Teaching of clinical students-Liaising with other health care personnel for efficient delivery of patient care.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
  • Registration by the Kenya Clinical Officers Council.
  • Candidates applying for the position of Registered Clinical Officer II should have at least three (3) years experience at the lower level of Registered Clinical Officer III.
  • Those with a specialisation will have added advantage.
19. Position: Dental Technologist III/II

21. Position: Pharmaceutical Technologist III/II

22. Position: Orthopaedic Technologist III/II

The Orthopaedic Technologist III/II will be responsible to the Senior Orthopaedic Technologist for the efficient delivery of support services in Orthopaedics.

Specific duties will include:-
  • Participating, planning and coordinating of the Orthopaedic services.

  • Participating in assessing, measuring, making and fitting of Orthopaedic appliances.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Candidates applying for Orthopaedic Technologist II must have worked at the lower grade of Orthopaedic Technologist III for a minimum of a period of three (3) years.
