Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) Jobs

CMMB is a Global NGO in Kenya working in collaboration with Kenya Episcopal Conference (KEC) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK).

We are seeking to fill the following positions:

'Born To Live" PMTCT Senior Clinical Technical Advisor
(Ref: BTL/SCT 01)

Reports to: CMMB Kenya Country Director

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Under the leadership of the Country Director provide technical assistance to the Team in the development of various HIV treatment protocols
  • Monitor the implementation and performance of prevention, care and support programming; conduct regular reviews of partner technical performance and develop technical status reports on partner programs
  • Identify country funding opportunities for the 'Born to Live' program and participate in the development of proposals in line with CMMB policies
  • Participate in the process of updating policies, strategies and guidelines for HIV especially in the context of HIV in pregnancy
  • Give technical advice on setting up and the development of community based networks to enhance patient medical education and social support
Minimum Professional requirements
  • MD with vast clinical experience in PMTCT, HIV/AIDS patients care and treatment to include pediatrics
  • MPH or other related field, MBA an added advantage
  • Must be registered with the Kenya Medical and dentist practitioners board
  • Computer Literate Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time.
  • Experience working with faith-based institutions and/or faith-based non-governmental organizations an added advantage
Aids Relief Project Officer
(Ref: APO 1)

Reports to: The Aids Relief Programme Manager

Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Responsible for Oversight of clinical and Administrative aspects of the program.
  • Provides oversight of spending against budget and ensures hospital has sufficient advances to continue scheduled program activities and patient services.
  • Ensure quality assurance mechanisms and in house participatory reviews take place, across departments and services (community, CCC, Lab, Pharmacy , M&E).
  • Monitors performance (i.e on ART, Mortality rates, lost to follow up etc) against targets, with a focus on providing all clients long - term durable therapy.
Minimum Professional requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in any Health Sciences or Public health.
  • Understanding regulations of basis accounting / GAAP Principles . Willingness to learn US government regulations to PEPFAR Support.
  • Ability to manage clinical and community-based progams. Includes an ability to organize staff, ensure clear reporting lines and activities , and ensure supervisory structures are in place to assure "quality" at varied levels of service delivery.
  • Ability to budget and manage funding per program needs.
  • High level Computer skills.
Position Title: Finance Officer
(Ref FO1)

Department: Finance

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Reports to: Finance Manager

Objective: The Finance Officer will work closely with the Finance Manager in Kenya. The incumbent will conduct relevant trainings in the field of accountancy and conduct systematic monitoring and evaluation activities to all CMMB Kenya programs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance Officer will be responsible for:
  • Process accounting transactions and bookkeeping.
  • Actively be involved in program budgeting.
  • Provide financial and compliance training to sites.
  • Perform quarterly visits to the sites to monitor their financial performance.
  • Provide monthly statistical financial analysis to the management for review.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75% time.
Minimum Professional requirements
  • Minimum Certified Public Accountant part II.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a finance officer.
  • Knowledge of donor practices and USG accounting for grants and/or cooperative agreements (USAID/CDC).
Position Title: Clinical Officer
(Ref CO1)

Department: Aids Relief MC

Location: Nyanza Province, Kenya

Reports to: Medical Officer - Male circumcision Program

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Planning of Male circumcision activities within the designated facility in co ordination with facility in charge.
  • In charge of regional male circumcision team within the designated region.
  • Carrying out of Male circumcision procedures in collaboration with other members of the team
  • Responsible for over seeing of quality assurance of male circumcision services within a designated region.
  • Responsible for data collection and reporting pertaining male circumcision program.
  • In charge of organizing and management of community mobilization and sensitization activities within the designated region.
  • Responsible for capacity building of facility staff within the designated region.
Minimum Professional requirements
  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
  • Registered with Council of clinical Officers.
  • Must be trained in Male circumcision service provision.
  • At least 2 Yrs working experience in medical field.
  • Training in Quality assurance an added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate.
Position Title: Counselor
(Ref C1)

Department: Aids Relief MC

Location: Nyanza Province, Kenya

Reports to: Regional Male circumcision Clinical Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enhancing quality of male circumcision services within the designated region.
  • Building capacity of service providers on male circumcision counseling.
  • Counseling of Male circumcision clients seeking male circumcision services.
  • Responsible of collection of HIV test kits, collection of male circumcision testing data and report back to the Facility VCT Counselor.
Minimum Professional requirements
  • Certificate in psychological counseling from reputable institution.
  • At least 2 yrs working experience.
  • Training in Male circumcision an added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate.
Position Title: Nursing Officer
(Ref NO1)

Department: Aids Relief MC

Location: Nyanza Province, Kenya

Reports to: Male circumcision Regional MC Clinical Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • In charge of management of all Male circumcision theatre activities regionally.
  • Responsible for Quality assurance pertaining infection control activities in Male circumcision service provision.
  • Responsible for management and control of MC expendables.
  • Planning and carrying out male circumcision procedures in co ordination with the Male circumcision Clinical Officer.
Minimum Professional requirements
  • Must be KRCHN certificate holder.
  • Must be licensed with nursing council of Kenya.
  • Must be trained in Male circumcision service provision.
  • Training in counseling preferably in male circumcision counseling an added advantage.
  • Must be computer literate.
Position Title: M&E Officer
(MEO1)

Department: Monitoring and Evaluation

Location: Kisumu, Kenya

Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

Objective of the position:

The objective of hiring M&E Officer is to improve quality of data collected in the facilities and improve on implementation of M&E activities in the sites.

The M&E Officer will works in close cooperation with the program staff and M&E staff to build their M&E capacity; strengthening M&E system including data management and effective use of M&E information.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all reports are received by M&E Department and maintain Reports Tracking Inventory.
  • Attend Site coordinators meetings
  • Performs data entry in the respective databases
  • Participate in the monthly Data Quality Audits and data quality feedbacks to sites.
  • Interacts with departmental and program staff on matters affecting data to ensure high quality standards in data collection, entry and retrieval.
Minimum Professional requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Statistics/Mathematics, health informatics, computing and information Systems from a recognized University
  • Training in M&E
  • At lest two years experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Have proficiency in design and working with spreadsheets and databases; Maintenance and a working knowledge of MS office package.
  • Excellent Information Technology skills.
