African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) is a regional international institution whose main mandate is poverty reduction through human resource capacity development.
The Institute is jointly funded by the governments of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Japan through JICA. The Head Office of AICAD is in Nairobi, Kenya.
AICAD hereby invites applications from qualified nationals of Kenya to fill the following positions immediately:
Information Technology Assistant
(1 Post)
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Answerable to the IN&D Director, the IT Assistant will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of servers and PCS; performing the necessary updates and installations of software such as Anti-Virus updates; configuring new users and their PCs on the LAN; updating the Institute's website; designing publications; internet and mail administration; monitoring the network security; setting up and being responsible for all the ICT equipment that includes all Public Address System; training staff in the applications of software; perform any other duties assigned by the IN&D Director.
Qualifications:
Should have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and in addition to the degree, Certifications in Windows and Linux would b,e an added advantage. The candidate should also have the knowledge on the following: practical knowledge of Linux server configuration - this includes but not limited to mailman, sendmail, squid and https; practical knowledge of Microsoft Windows server with emphasis on active directory; Database management and administration; knowledge of general hardware and computer maintenance. Applicants must be between 25 and 40 years of age.
House Keeper

Key duties and responsibilities include:
Answerable to the Administration and Finance Director, the House Keeper will be responsible for: supervising cleaning services in the Guest rooms; handle room keys during the day while freshening the rooms; ensure change of toiletries and linen for the guests; prepare dirty linen for laundry; receive and record guest house sundry movement; receive and keep record of guests at the Guest House; keep record of linen and all Guest House equipment; perform any other duties assigned by the Administration and Finance Director or his/her assignees.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants should be holders of at least a Certificate in Hotel Management or equivalent; at least three years experience in a busy organization; must have KCSE at least C-; must be computer literate; must be fluent in English and fluency in Swahili will be an added advantage. Applicants must be between 25 and 40 years of age.
Note:
Each appointment is for 5-year renewable contract on mutual agreement. The duty station is at the Head Office Nairobi, Kenya.
