Salary Scale: Kshs.77.527 x 3,877 – 81,404 x 4,070 – 85,474 x 4,274 – 89,748 x 4,487 – 94,235 x 4,712 – 98,947 p.m.

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
  1. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Degree from a recognized university /institution
  2. Post graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
  3. A current practicing certificate
  4. At least twelve (12) years post qualification experience in legal matters in a busy organization or law firm, or
  5. MUST have served as Legal Officer 1, State Counsel 1 or Resident Magistrate or other comparable position in the public or Judicial Service.
  6. Computer literate.
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -

The holder of this post will be:
  1. Head of the Legal Division at the TSC Headquarters.
  2. Shall be reporting to the Chief Executive through the Senior Deputy Secretary (Administration).
  3. Provide legal advice to the Commission.
  4. Handling, co-coordinating and monitoring any litigation instituted against or on behalf of the Commission including collating evidence, security of witnesses and witness statements.
  5. Liaise with external Legal Counsel on such litigations
  6. Negotiations and mediation of disputes involving the Commission
  7. Assist in drafting contracts and agreements which the Commission may be involved.
  8. Liaisons between the Commission and Legal Personnel in Kenya Federation of Employers (KFE), Government, Parastatals and Private Sector.

Salary Scale: Kshs.63,782 x 3,189 – 66,971 x 3,349 – 70,320 x 3,516 – 73,836 x 3,691 – 77,527 x 3,877 - 81,404 p.m.

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
  1. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) Degree from a recognized university /institution
  2. Post graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
  3. A current practicing certificate
  4. At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in legal matters in a busy organization or law firm, or
  5. MUST have served as Legal Officer 1, State Counsel 1 or Resident Magistrate or other comparable position in the public or Judicial Service.
  6. Computer literate.
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -
  1. Providing legal advice to the Commission.
  2. Undertaking court work on behalf of the Commission
  3. Undertaking research on legal matters in the Legal division.
  4. Being responsible to the Deputy Secretary (Legal Unit) for supervision of staff and other related administrative matters.
  5. Ensuring regular update of statues governing the Commission.
  6. Draft and amend contracts and agreements which the Commission may be party to.
  7. Liaise with Kenya Federation of Employers (KFE) on all legal matters that required their assistance.
  8. Advise the Commission on matters relating to discipline of employees

Salary Scale: Kshs.21,304 x 1,605 – 22,369 x 1,118 – 23,487 x 1,175 – 24,662 – 1,233 – 25,895 p.m.

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have:
  1. Must have attained a minimum grade of C (plain) in the ‘O’ level secondary examination.
  2. Diploma in Paralegal training from the Kenya School of Law or its equivalent.
  3. Must be a registered process server with a valid practicing certificate
  4. MUST have at least three years post qualification experience as a process server in a busy legal office.
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -
  1. Process service of court pleadings
  2. Filing of court documents
  3. Fixing and taking hearing dates
  4. Perusals.
  5. Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Commission.
The remuneration will include Medical Allowance, House allowance, leave allowance, and Membership to a Superannuation Pension Scheme.
