Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Gender & Social Development Assistant I an officer must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- (Minus)or its equivalent; and
  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Rehabilitation Studies, Community Development, Social Development, Psychology, Gender Studies, Counseling, Gerontology or Business Administration/Management, or equivalent relevant qualifications from a recognized Institution.

  • Ability to take initiatives.
  • Amiable
Core Competences
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good public relations skills.
Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will work at the Division.

Duties and responsibilities will involve:-
  • Assisting the local communities and self-help groups to identify their felt needs and mobilize local resources for the implementation of their development projects and mainstream gender in projects/programmes;
  • Bringing members of the community together for collective optimization of their development needs; assessing groups/community training needs; and
  • Assisting in identification of persons with disabilities, poor and vulnerable individuals to benefit from the relevant programmes.
2. Vacancy: Technical Instructor II

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Technical Instructor II JG 'H' an officer must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education D+ (Plus)
  • A Diploma in any of the following fields:- Technical Education, Computer Studies, Information Communication Technology, Agriculture, Agriculture and Home Economics, Fashion Design and Textile Technology, Hair Dressing and Beauty Therapy or equivalent relevant qualifications from any of the recognized institution.
Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will involve:-
  • Maintenance of machines and equipments
  • To prepare and use the machines and equipments for instructional duties in the relevant fields with minimum guidance
  • Setting and marking proficiency tests up to craft intermediate level
  • Prepare lesson plans, assess and mark practical work for students
  • To instruct Trainees in their areas of specialization
3. Vacancy: PI Teacher

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of PI Teacher an officer must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C- (Minus); and
  • Kenya National Examination Council PI Certificate
Duties and Responsibilities

A teacher at this level will be deployed to teach primary school syllabus at the children rehabilitation schools.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve: -
  • classroom teaching
  • managing a class as a class teacher
  • preparing and maintaining of lesson notes, schemes of work, pupil progress records and records of work
  • developing and organizing relevant teaching and learning materials
  • guiding and counseling of pupils
  • participate in co-curricular activities
4. Vacancy: Nursery Teacher

Salary Scale: Ksh 10,717 X 537 - 11,254 X 563 - 11,817X599- 12,416 p.m

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Nursery Teacher, an officer must have:-
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D+ (plus); and
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education or its equivalent
Duties and Responsibilities

A teacher at this level will be deployed to work as a nursery school teacher at a children's home.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve:
  • classroom teaching
  • preparation and maintenance of lesson notes
  • schemes of work
  • pupil progress reports
  • records of work
  • maintaining discipline of nursery school pupils
  • instilling appropriate moral values to the nursery school pupils
  • participation in curricular and co-curricular activities; and
  • counseling and guidance of the nursery school pupils.
