Family Health Options Kenya (FHOK) is seeking for qualified persons to fill the following positions:

1) Program Manager (Youth)

Location: Nairobi

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and assistance to the youth centre coordinators.
  • Training of volunteer peer youth Educators in peer education, training of teachers and PTA members as trainers of peer youth educators.
  • Ensure formation and orientation of project Advisory Committee.
  • Good understanding of current issues in Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS.
  • Re-printing of IEC materials (i.e. brochures and booklets) on HIV/AIDS and SRH issues.
  • Carry out support seeking activities at the national and local district levels.
  • Collaborate and link with Community Based Organization and Government and other stakeholders in implementing the project.
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of youth centre activities at the national level.
  • Monitor and supervise project activities at the project site.
  • Develop youth strategy and policies in accordance with IPPF youth standards.
  • Collaborate and Network with the relevant stakeholders in the youth programme.
  • Plan, co-ordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate the youth project.
  • Facilitate the production of BCC and advocacy materials focusing on youth.
  • Develop curriculum on youth issues.
  • Fund raise for the project by liaising with donors, collaborators and prepare proposals on youth.
  • Strengthen capacity of VCT services in the existing youth Centres.
Professional Qualification, Competencies and Experience Academic Qualification
  • Degree in Sociology, Social work, Community Development or Equivalent.
  • Length of Experience: 5 years' relevant experience Training in youth issues, counseling, proposal and report writing skills.
Additional Skills Required
  • Good writing, analysis and communication skills.
  • Must be a result oriented and team player
  • Other Personal Attributes includes Flexible and adaptable, innovative, self-motivated and independent.
The job will include Field travel from time to time.

2.) Information Technology Officer

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administration to Organization's Servers including File, Mail and Sun Accounting system.
  • Provide Technical Support for Internet/email facilities at the Head office and branches.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance of computer systems and routine backups.
  • Provide support on disaster recovery through trouble shooting of software and hardware problems.
  • Identify and bridge the gaps in all computer systems by continuously analyzing the systems in response to Information Communication Technology changes.
  • Liaise with the user departments in identifying, developing and implementing new systems to respond to changes.
  • Develop innovative strategies to mobilize resources for the IT department.
  • Train users on new systems and software applications.
  • Provide regular support and update website.
Professional Qualification, Competencies and Experience
  • A holder of Bsc in Computer Science/Information Technology from a recognized University.
  • Professional qualifications in Hardware maintenance, Networking and Systems Administration -MCSE/CCNA.
  • Length of Experience: Three years' working experience on Linux, Windows 2008 and Windows XP Operating System.

Salaries/ Remuneration
  • Negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
