Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) Jobs: Mechanical Technician (Plant)

The Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) is established as a State Corporation under the State Corporation Act Cap 446 to discharge the following mandates:
  • Promote and Market Conference Tourism locally and internationally;
  • Monitor the quality and standard of conference facilities and advice both private and public investors on improvement of such facilities;
  • Plan and implement the expansion and modernization of existing conference facilities and develop new ones; and
  • carry out any other mandate relevant to its principal mandate.
KICC is in the process of recruiting suitable persons and invites applications for the posts indicated below:

Mechanical Technician (Plant) (1)

Description of Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repair of all domestic and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning plants at the Centre.
  • Prepare proposed work plan for short and long term preventive plants maintenance for approval by the line manager
  • Mechanical repair and service of booster and fountain pumps at the Centre
  • Electrical repair and servicing of all electrical control panels for refrigeration and air conditioning plants, booster and fountain pumps.
  • In liaison with Safety and Security Manager, determining class of firefighting equipment and advising on use.
  • Providing technical essential services to conference, exhibitions and events held at the Centre.
  • Carry out short and long term preventative maintenance as scheduled and approved.
  • any other lawful duties assigned by management from time to time
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Mechanical Engineering Services the ideal candidate will:
  • Possess KCSE Mean grade of C (plain)
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (plant Option)
  • Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge on the operation of water pumps alongside its controls
  • Must be able to work using common MS office packages
  • Three (2) years experience in handling commercial power generators
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills.
