The County Government of Homa Bay wishes to consider applications from highly qualified, results-oriented and self-motivated Kenyan citizens for appointment to the following positions:

Three (3) Years Contract

Nutrition and Dietetics Technologist III

 

Job Group ‘H’ 

 

(Posts 5)

Duties and Responsibilities
 

(i) Conducting nutrition assessment, counseling and support to clients in various existing programs;
 

(ii) Carrying out child growth monitoring and promotion activities;
 

(iii) Conducting routine nutrition assessment for expectant women;
 

(iv) Assisting in lifestyle disease prevention and management programs;
 

(v) Providing nutrition services in both out-patient and inpatient departments; monitoring preparation of therapeutic feeds;
 

(vi) Implementing hospital menus; carrying out micronutrient supplementation; Following up on clients;
 

(vii) Promoting maternal, infant and young children nutrition programs;
 

(viii) Promoting baby friendly hospital &community initiatives;
 

(ix) Carrying out nutrition education and demonstrations to patients/clients in health facilities & the community;
 

(x) Promotion of dietary diversification; collecting nutrition data and preparing monthly reports;
 

(xi) Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor

Requirements for Appointment
 

(i) Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition & Dietetics from a recognized Institution
 

(ii) Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution
 

(iii) Registration by the Kenya Nutritionists & Dieticians Institute (KNDI) and a valid practicing license.
 

(iv) Satisfy the requirements of chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya
