Nairobi Hospice is a charitable organisation that exists to improve, through the provision of Palliative Care, the quality of life of patients facing life-limiting illnesses and offering support to their families.

In addition, we carry out education in Palliative care for healthcare professionals and non-healthcare providers.

Nairobi Hospice seeks to recruit suitable candidates for the following positions:

Position: Head of Education
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective management of the Education department
  • Lead the Diploma of Higher Education in Palliative care(Nairobi),ensuring effective selection, recruitment, admission and registration of students qualified to pursue the course
  • Facilitate programme delivery, and support assessment of students registered
  • Research and identify relevant education and training needs for various stakeholders to ensure understanding and application of holistic Palliative Care
  • Design, develop and facilitate Palliative Care Education and training to ensure increased knowledge and understanding of holistic
  • Palliative care to both students and other stakeholders of the Hospice
  • Assess the need and facilitate recruitment of Tutors and Trainers
  • Risk management
Expected minimum qualifications
  • Kenya Registered Nurse/Midwife/Community Health Nurse with a Master’s degree or its equivalent
  • Diploma in Palliative Care
  • 8 years’ working experience; with at least 5 years’ experience in providing education and training preferably in palliative/home based care
