Nairobi Hospice is a charitable organisation that exists to improve, through the provision of Palliative Care, the quality of life of patients facing life-limiting illnesses and offering support to their families.

In addition, we carry out education in Palliative care for healthcare professionals and non-healthcare providers.

Nairobi Hospice seeks to recruit suitable candidates for the following positions:

Position: Part-time Medical Officers
 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for reviewing patients and deciding which referrals are appropriate in collaboration with members of the clinical team
  • Responsible for assisting in the use, monitoring and disposal of drugs
  • Responsible for ensuring the Clinical team keeps the patient’s records and statistics.
  • Promote patient care by liaison with ail departments of the Hospice
  • Promote Palliative care by showing empathy and compassion to patients, their families and friends to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in the education and research programmes of the Hospice as assigned
Expected minimum qualifications
  • A Medical degree (MBchB) from a recognized Institution and registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist’s board
  • Postgraduate qualification especially in Palliative Care will be an added advantage
  • Minimum of 1 year post graduate experience
  • Desirable: Some teaching experience and undertaken some research.
